Live a Haiku Life

Welcome! My name is Kenneth Pearson, and I'm truly grateful that you've found this page. Combining my MFA in Creative Writing with an MS in Industrial Organizational Psychology, I bring a unique and heartfelt approach to leadership and mindfulness. My experience as the Digital Librarian of The Haiku Foundation, Facilitator of the Haiku Walk at Yume Japanese Gardens in Tucson, and author of two haiku collections has profoundly shaped me. Haiku has become a cornerstone of my life, teaching me to appreciate simplicity, presence, and the fleeting beauty of each moment.

I'm passionate about blending art and science to help individuals and organizations thrive. I believe that the art of haiku can remind us of what truly matters, creating a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.

My journey to haiku began several years ago during early morning walks with my German Shepherd/Akita, Kiera. Initially, writing haiku was solely about exploring syllables, sound, and structure as I prepared for a local haiku contest. But as I delved deeper into the art form, it became much more - it became a way to center myself and connect more deeply with the world around me.

The more present I became, the more I realized that haiku is not just poetry; it's a lifestyle and a mindset. I discovered that being mindful and present doesn't require writing haiku; it requires embracing the haiku mindset. This realization inspired me to develop the concepts that compromise of Live a Haiku Life, aiming to help others experience the transformative power of presence and simplicity.

For the past year, I have dedicated myself to crafting and developing The Haiku Mindset and The Haiku Leader programs. These transformative programs are designed to change how you perceive the world and each other, encouraging deeper connections and enhancing mindfulness in both personal and professional settings. I want to thank you for joining me on this journey. Feel free to explore how Live a Haiku Life can elevate and inspire your personal and professional paths, and please let me know if you have any questions along the way!

The Vision & Hope for
Live a Haiku Life

“We believe that the art of haiku has the power and capacity to change our perspectives and interactions with the world around us.”

With the ancient art of haiku as our guide, we envision a world transformed whereby:

  • Individuals embrace mindfulness, finding depth in simplicity and clarity in observation. They approach each moment with presence, discovering newfound appreciation for life's subtle nuances.

  • Workplaces evolve into centers of focused productivity and clear communication. The haiku approach promotes concise, meaningful interactions and innovative problem-solving.

  • Leaders guide with wisdom born of keen insight and thoughtful expression. Their decisions, distilled to their essence, resonate with foresight and compassion.

  • Communities grow stronger through shared moments of understanding and connection. The haiku mindset nurtures empathy and mutual respect among diverse groups.

  • Global challenges meet fresh, simplified perspectives. Complex issues unravel as we apply haiku-inspired clarity and directness to our most pressing problems.

Our goal is to inspire this transformation, believing that as we embrace the haiku life, we collectively create a more balanced, aware, and harmonious world. It's a vision of change that starts with a single mindful breath and expands to encompass all of humanity, one haiku moment at a time.
